30 Best Fourth of July Sales: Couches, Bidets, and TVs

Summer is rolling along, and Independence Day is finally here! Well, almost. It’s in the middle of the week this year, which means the July 4th fun starts this weekend. That’s great news for all you deal hunters, as many of the best Fourth of July sales have already kicked off. We’ve searched, sorted, and curated our way through dozens of them—these are our favorites.

It’s worth noting that Amazon’s Prime Day is coming up soon, on July 11 and 12, and there’s a small chance some of these products may get even steeper discounts (though that’s not always a guarantee). We’ve rounded up our favorite early Prime Day deals right here

Phone, Laptop, and TV Deals

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4

Photograph: Samsung

This is the lowest price we’ve ever tracked on Samsung’s flagship folding phone, the fourth-generation Galaxy Z Fold4 (8/10, WIRED Recommends). Folding phones are getting better every year, and Samsung offers up a somewhat narrow screen on the front that opens up to a vast display on the inside. It’s worth noting that the company is expected to unveil a successor in the coming weeks at its Galaxy Unpacked event, which explains this drastic price drop.

This deal is on the 512 GB variant—the 256-GB model is also on sale for $1,000, but it’s frequently at that price. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is one of our favorite Android phones (9/10 WIRED Recommends). It’s not the most exciting iteration Samsung’s ever done, but it’s still a powerful phone with a bright, vivid display and a best-in-class camera system. Read our Best Android Phones guide for more recommendations.

We’ll be publishing our review of this TV very soon, but it scored high marks from WIRED reviewer Parker Hall. It’s an OLED panel, so you get perfect black levels, yet it still delivers bright colors and is an excellent option for well-lit rooms. The center pedestal mount means it can fit on a variety of TV stands. Oh, and the remote never needs a battery because it’s solar-powered!

Microsoft Surface Pro 9

This is one of our favorite 2-in-1 laptops, even if it doesn’t differ much from its predecessor. This model includes a 12th-gen Intel Evo Core i5 chipset with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It runs Windows 11, and the display has a smooth 120-Hz screen refresh rate. It’s plenty of power for most people, and it looks attractive to boot.

We’ve tested and like many of Hyper’s products, though we haven’t tested this specific one. It’s a MagSafe-compatible battery pack that can stick to any MagSafe iPhone (iPhone 12 and newer) to recharge it without the need for any cables. The pack has 5,000 mAh of battery life, which usually is enough to top up a Pro model, but can mostly recharge a standard iPhone. Read our Best MagSafe Accessories guide for more.

We’ve had no problems with Hyper’s hubs before, and reviews are fairly positive for this 11-in-1 USB-C hub across the web. It’s an easy way to make the most out of any USB-C port. The hub includes a gigabit Ethernet jack, an HDMI port, an old-timey VGA port, microSD and SD slots, three USB-A, one USB-C, a Mini DisplayPort, and a good old-fashioned headphone jack. You can find more picks in our Best Hubs and Docks guide.

OK, this might be a little niche, but this tiny thing is amazing. It’s a USB-C to Lightning cable disguised as an around-the-neck lanyard. It could be an absolute life-saver if you’re an iPhone user and a frequent convention-goer or if your workplace requires a keycard.

Sofa Deals

Lovesac Sactionals

Photograph: Lovesac

Lovesac couches are expensive but customizable. You can expand them whenever you want, and add all sorts of accouterments, from power hubs to storage seats. Our tester found them sturdy but comfy, and best of all, the frame, sides, and clamps all come with a lifetime warranty (the covers and cushions are covered for three years). Read our Best Couches guide for other options.

The Lovesac StealthTech (8/10 WIRED Recommends) isn’t a couch, but an add-on to your existing Lovesac setup. It adds a Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound setup that is hidden away in the couch for a truly immersive experience. The sides include wireless charging too.

This is where Lovesac gets its name. The BigOne is a massive 95-pound, six-foot-wide cushion full of shredded memory foam, and it is an absolute joy to sit in. It’s not quite a couch and not quite a chair, but something in between. It’s great for playing games, watching movies, or just taking a nap. For real, you can’t help but nap in one of these things.

Inside Weather Levi Armchair

Photograph: Inside Weather

Enter code SUMMER at checkout to see the full discount. WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been using this armchair for close to three years now and it’s just as good as new. Inside Weather lets you customize the chair in a variety of ways, from the material to the type of legs you want. The velvet on Chokkattu’s model has held up quite well, even with his dog’s vigorous scratches.

Enter code JULY2023 to see the full discount at checkout. Here’s another couch WIRED reviews editor Julian Chokkattu has been testing for two months. It’s not as wide as his previous sofa, so just barely fits two people cuddling together. It is long though, and he says it can comfortably fit his 6’4 self. Inside Weather is another brand that has dozens and dozens of prints you can choose from to personalize the sofa (the Ink Frida looks exceptional). Most importantly, it’s comfy!

The Burrow is easy to assemble, so if you want a no-hassle couch, this is the way to go. Every piece snaps together, and it’s held up well after years of sitting, even in a household with three pets. You’ll occasionally need to push the cushions back into place. It can seat three people, four if someone is on the chaise.

Bidet Deals

Tushy Classic Bidet

Photograph: Tushy

Enter code USOFSPRAY to see the discount at checkout. The aptly named Tushy Classic is a bidet attachment that pops onto your toilet and turns it into a luxury spa experience. There are tons of different bidet conversion kits that can give you a similar experience, but in our estimation, the Tushy Classic is one of the best at its low price, which is even more affordable with this sale. Since it’s non-electric, it’s especially great if you don’t have an outlet in your bathroom.

We have a Best Bidets guide on the way, and currently, this Toto is our upgrade pick. It has an auto-lift seat! The water gets heated at your command and it cleans itself too. The remote is intuitive, as you can set preferred oscillation patterns and patterns for two people in the household. This is the lowest price we have ever tracked on this bidet.

The Coway Bidetmega 400 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) is another great option that’s a little more affordable than the Toto. It doesn’t have all the same bells and whistles, but you still get a heated seat, heated water, a night light, and plenty of settings to dial in your preferences.

Kitchen Deals

Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven

Photograph: Amazon

A classic addition to any kitchen, the Le Creuset enameled cast iron Dutch oven is incredibly solid and built to last. Cast iron Dutch ovens are versatile multitaskers, they’re great for everything from making soups and stews to baking bread. For real, this is the kind of cookware you only need to buy once, the kind that your grandkid’s grandkids are going to fight over.

Legendary Italian appliance brand Smeg is having a very rare sale on a few of its single-door refrigerators. The Fab10 is a mini fridge by most standards. It’s just 38 inches tall and 21 inches wide and comes in a variety of retro-inspired colors. The nice thing about Smeg appliances is that they can so easily brighten up an otherwise muted kitchen–or become the latest addition to an absolutely color-drenched kitchen. If you want an even smaller version, the Fab5 Mini Refridgerator is also on sale for $975 ($325 off) (also available at Wayfair).

If you’re looking for a full-size refrigerator experience, the Fab 28 is a better fit. It’s a single-door model with an internal freezer door, and it’s 60 inches tall and 21 inches wide. That means it’s a little less capacious than some of the bigger American-style refrigerators on the market, which are typically taller and twice as wide. Still, it’s big enough for a small household. If you don’t shop at Costco too often.

Five Two Oven Mitts

Photograph: Food52

Select colors are on sale. These oven mitts were just featured in our Buy It for Life guide, which means you should absolutely snag these at this discount. WIRED reviewer Nena Farrell says the silicone offers better protection over fabric gloves with better water resistance and improved durability too.

Other long-standing WIRED favorite, stand mixers make great gifts that last forever. This model has a tiltable head, meaning it’s easier to switch out attachments and the bowl is more accessible when you need to add more ingredients.

This set comes with a 10-inch fry pan, a 3-quart saucepan and lid, and a 7-quart stockpot and lid. WIRED’s UK managing editor Mike Dent says he’s been using these for eight years and they’re still in good shape.

Coffee and Espresso Machines

Solis Grind & Infuse Espresso Machine

Photograph: Solis

The Solis Grind & Infuse is an all-in-one espresso machine and it features a digital display for programming your grind and brew times, a shot timer, pressure gauge, and it even comes with a cute little frothing pitcher. It’s a great pick if you’re looking for an espresso machine that can do it all and you’re not looking to spend more than $1,000.

The discount shows up in your cart. If you’re not subscribed to a coffee subscription service, it’s a good time to snag a bag or two of Partners Coffee’s Colombia El Ramo beans. You can get them as whole beans or choose a grind type. Partners is offering a 20 percent sale sitewide, so look around if something else catches your eye.

Cafe Affetto

Photograph: Café Appliances

I don’t like automatic espresso machines, but I fell in love with the Cafe Affetto. You put beans and water in the machine, and it does everything else. Even when I was testing other espresso machines, I found myself going back to the Affetto. It’s so seamless, and it even makes short work of steaming up your milk. Just put your pitcher under the wand, hit a single button and it froths your milk to perfection every single time.

The Cafe Bellissimo is less automatic than the Affetto, but it still takes some of the headaches out of brewing your own espresso. The included burr grinder produces a fine, consistent grind, and can even grind coffee coarse enough for other kinds of coffee preparation (like pour-over, drip, or French press). Another big perk is that the drip tray is really shallow so you never have to worry about things getting weird and moldy down there when you clean it out.

The Flair is a manual espresso maker. There are no fancy features like a milk steamer or even a power cable. Load it with coffee and water, and just press it. Keep an eye on the pressure gauge to keep your extractions consistent. It doesn’t take up a ton of space on the counter too.

Sex Tech and Personal Care Deals

Lelo Sila

Photograph: Amazon

One of the mainstays of our Best Sex Tech guide, Lelo’s Sila is a suction toy with vibration functionality, so it’s a little bit of a two-for-one. Suction toys like Sila use air pulses to simulate the sensation of oral sex on sensitive erogenous zones. This one is a small and discreet option, with a snail-shaped body and a broad mouth for providing more diffuse stimulation.

The Smart Wand 2 is Lelo’s take on a classic vibrator design. The magic wand form factor is familiar and easy to use, and Lelo’s luxury touches make it an absolute joy to use. It’s coated in powder-soft silicone and has mirrored finish accents to complete the ultra-luxe vibe. It’s not just a looker either, this thing can be surprisingly gentle on the lower vibration levels, or impressively intense on the higher ones.

In our Best Hair Dryers guide, the Zuvi is our option for anyone looking to use as little heat as possible to dry their hair. That’s because it uses infrared heat instead of convective heat, so it’s less damaging to your hair. It comes with a standard air concentrator and diffuser attachment.
