True to Its name and its roots, Cyber Monday is a great day to go shopping for computer parts. Whether you’re building a workstation from scratch or upgrading your existing PC, most parts you’ll need are available on discount right now (unless you’re looking for a graphics card, that is).

If you’re not already familiar with how to build a PC for yourself, you can check out our guide here. We won’t repeat too much here, but a good starting point is using a site like PCPartPicker to make sure that all the components you buy will work together.
We have a roundup of deals below on most components that you’ll need to build a PC from scratch, but it’s worth mentioning that graphics cards are uniquely difficult to get right now. Not only are the highest end graphics cards out of stock, but some that are in stock are more expensive right now. If you’re trying to build a whole gaming PC, it might be a good idea to buy most of what you need now, but keep hunting for graphics card deals as they come.
Motherboard Deals
MSI Z490 Motherboard
Photograph: MSIThis motherboard is our pick as a starting point if you want to start a mid-tier Intel-based PC. It supports the LGA 1200 socket type, DDR4 RAM, and it even comes with Wi-Fi built in, which saves you one extra card in your desktop.
Another Wi-Fi-capable motherboard, this ASUS TUF Gaming model similarly supports the LGA 1200 socket that supports both 10th and 11th generation Intel CPUs.
On the other hand, if you prefer AMD processors—and there are plenty of reasons to do that—this motherboard supports the AM4 socket for those CPUs. You can get an extra $10 off this deal with a mail-in rebate, just be sure to file it.
Another AMD-centric motherboard, this ASRock B550 Phantom Gaming board supports the AM4 socket, but in the smaller Mini ITX configuration. This is more ideal if you want to make a less bulky, relatively lower-cost PC.
CPU Deals
AMD Ryzen 9 5900X CPU
Photograph: AMDThis Core i7 is part of the 10th generation of Intel CPUs. It’s a solid mid-range CPU, compatible with the LGA 1200 socket. This model doesn’t come with its own heat sink, so you’ll need to add one of those to your build as well.
While this processor is slightly less powerful than the i7 above, it’s part of the 11th generation of Intel CPUs, Rocket Lake. It still uses the LGA 1200 socket, so you could put this in the same motherboard as either of the other Intel CPUs we’ve featured.
For a little more power, this Core i9 CPU is part of Intel’s 11th generation, but still compatible with the LGA 1200 socket. Like the other CPU above, it doesn’t include a heat sink in the package, but the discount you get on this processor should help cover that.
Amazon, Newegg ($495 with code BCMAY22639)
On the AMD side of the market, this AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is a powerful processor (and, according to benchmarks, more powerful than the Core i9 above) that works with the AM4 motherboard socket.

Closer to the lower side of the high-end range of AMD processors, the Ryzen 7 5700G is down $40 right now if you use the somewhat cumbersome promo code BCMAY22642. This processor slots into the AM4 socket.

This Ryzen 7 process has a slightly better performance bump for a slightly higher price than the 5700G above. On NewEgg, you’ll need to use coupon code 93XSD62, but on Walmart it’s a flat $350 with no code necessary.

Some more modern motherboards have a slot where you can pop in a compact PCIe SSD, which provides huge speed benefits to your computer. This spacious 2 terabyte drive can slot directly into that space, if you have one.
Since SSD space can be expensive, one of the best ways to get the speed upgrades without shelling out a ton of cash is to get a smaller SSD for your main drive and larger, slower drives for storing files. If that’s the route you want to go, this 500 gigabyte SSD is dirt cheap while still having plenty of room for Windows, as well as your most commonly used apps and games.

Power Supply Deals

The primary concern with a power supply in your PC is going to be how much power all your other components are consuming. This power supply from Thermaltake can output 600W, which should be more than enough for most basic PCs, but you might want to start keeping an eye on consumption if you’re planning to do heavy duty work or gaming on it. A step up from the previous power supply, this Cooler Master model can output up to 750W to your machine. It also doesn’t require any special mail-in rebates or anything to get the full discount.
On the higher end of power supply deals we found, this Corsair supply can handle up to 850W, which should be enough for most gaming PCs, even if you have a really high-powered graphics card. If you can get your hands on one, that is.

Calling this a deal is a bit of a misnomer, since the retail price for the AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT is $1,000. This is considerably more than that, because graphics cards are just in high demand and low supply. This is one of the better discounts we’ve seen when measured against what a specific card has been priced at recently—and even that requires a mail-in rebate for the bulk of the discount—but it’s almost more valuable as an object lesson for why waiting to find a graphics card might be a better option.
For all those CPUs above that don’t come with their own heat sink, this liquid cooling module could be a great option. It’s one of our favorite picks for system builders, and yes, it comes with a ton of RGB LEDs.
