Kid Rock Concerts Feature Video Greeting From Donald Trump

Plenty of artists have unique and compelling video elements incorporated into their live performances. Kid Rock‘s method of choice? A personal video greeting from former President Donald Trump, which preceded the rocker’s performance of the song “We the People.”

Rock’s tour with Foreigner, Grand Funk Railroad and Jason Bonham‘s Led Zeppelin Evening just kicked off last week (April 6) in Evansville, Ind., and fan-filmed footage from the concert shows the video introduction from Trump.

“We have a very special announcement from the 45th President of the United States of America,” a voice stated as cheers rose from the crowd.

“Hello everyone, I love you all. I know you’re having a great time at the Kid Rock concert tonight. Quite frankly, he’s amazing,” Trump said from the screen. “All of you in attendance are the true backbone of our great country — hardworking, God-fearing, rock ‘n’ roll patriots.”

“Bob is truly one of the greatest entertainers of our time. Not the best golfer by any means, his golf game is could use a little work — but a great, great entertainer, and that’s why you’re there,” he continued. “Let’s all continue to love one another, fight for our God-given freedoms, and most of all, let’s make America rock again.”

When’s the last time you heard anyone refer to Rock as “Bob”?

Setlist.fm notes that “We the People” was the second-to-last song Rock played during the April 6 show, which ended with “Bawitdaba.” The tour continues April 15 in Columbus, Ohio, and will run throughout the summer. See the full set of dates here.

Rock and Trump have publicly expressed their admiration for one another many times over the last several years. Most recently, Rock revealed that the former President actually sought advice from him on how to handle the conflict with North Korea.

“I’m like ‘What? I don’t think I’m qualified to answer this!'” the musician confessed.
