The 14 Best Deals on iPads, Phones, TVs, and More

Poor Halloween. It feels a little overshadowed this year. Half the internet seems to think it’s already happened. Retailers are unleashing “Black Friday” deals in October, which … well. At least there are a whole lot of deals going on. With shipping delays and supply chain woes piling up, maybe we should be grateful we don’t have to wait for great prices. Here’s our weekly roundup of the best deals on the best stuff.

Tablet and Phone Deals

Apple iPad Pro

This isn’t a huge discount, but if you’re in the market for a new iPad Pro you can save $100 this weekend. The device is quite a beast. Check out our full review (8/10, WIRED Recommends) for all the details on the new screen and powerful M1 chip.

The OnePlus 9 Pro (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has a great camera system, and it’s plenty fast. It boasts good battery life and recharges both by wire and wirelessly. It doesn’t work on AT&T, but otherwise this is a good deal on a solid top-tier phone.

This is the lowest price we’ve seen on this phone this year. Motorola’s Moto G series has long been one of our favorite phones for the money. The G Power is affordable and offers decent performance; the downside is its lackluster camera and the fact that it will never be updated beyond Android 11.

The Lenovo Tab P11 Plus has a bright, sharp 2K OLED screen and a great design. It doesn’t cost a fortune and has good battery life. Using Android on a tablet just isn’t a great experience, but if you can live with that, this is a solid device.

TV and Home Deals

TCL 6-Series TV

So many TV sales are already in progress that we wrote up a whole guide to the best Early Black Friday TV Deals. Give that a read if you missed it earlier this week.

The TCL 6-Series (9/10, WIRED Recommends) has been our favorite TV for most people for several years running. This 2020 model has mini LED backlighting for better black levels and a very usable Android TV interface. This deal is also available at Walmart.

Samsung’s 75-inch QN90A (8/10, WIRED Recommends) has gorgeous highlights and excellent contrast, thanks to the mini LED technology (which is what the new iPad uses). You also get variable refresh rate support for gaming, with up to 120 Hz at 4K for the latest consoles.

The Ultra is Roku’s faster, more powerful player. It has extras like dual-band Wi-Fi, voice search, and an Ethernet port for more stable connections. There’s also a headphone jack on the remote so you can watch TV shows in private while other folks sleep. Check out our Roku Guide to see which model is best for your needs.

Laptop and Accessories Deals

Acer Swift 3

Acer’s Swift 3 is a solid midrange laptop. It’s got plenty of power for your average workload (document editing, web browsing, etc.), and at this price it’s one of the best value laptops around. See our guide to cheap laptops for some more budget options.

Samsung’s T5 series SSDs make good backup drives. At 540 megabytes per second, they’re fast enough that backing up a large drive doesn’t take forever, but the price remains reasonable. I would not try to edit video from them (see the next pick for that), but they’re good for backups.

These drives are fast enough to use as storage devices for any HD video you want to edit. I regularly edit 4K footage from this exact device, and it’s plenty fast enough. For some more portable SSD options, check out our guide to portable storage devices.

We have not tested this particular model, but range extenders are one of our favorite ways to improve home internet speeds

Gaming and Audio Deals

The Legend of Zelda, Breath of the Wild

Breath of the Wild ditches the linear story of most Zelda games, instead offering up a world of hidden secrets you can tackle as you wish. It’s Zelda with less hand-holding and more fun.

The Sony WH-1000XM4s are the best wireless headphones. They’re comfortable, get 30 hours of battery life, and have the best noise-canceling tech on the market. This is such a good deal, we wrote a whole post on it if you’d like more details.
