Amazon Prime Day 2020: 39 Best Home, Outdoors, Toy Deals

Amazon Prime Day looks a lot different this year, for more reasons than one. It’s not in July, and we’re all months-deep in a pandemic that has caused many of us to stay at home and pinch our pennies a little bit harder. Here on the WIRED Gear team, we scrolled through thousands of deals to find a way to save money on some of our favorite whizbangs and gizmos. If you’re looking for ways to make cooking a little easier, or to get motivated to get moving, read on.

Note: We strike through items that sell out or rise in price as we update this guide. Discounts sometimes return quickly, so check for yourself. You’ll need a subscription to Amazon Prime to get most of these deals.

Updated October 13: We’ve added 11 new deals!

  • Blueair Pure 411+ Air Purifier for $98 ($42 off): I (Adrienne) tested this bedroom purifier during the wildfires that choked Oregon. It kept my children’s bedroom at a reasonable AQI during a time when the outdoor air quality was decidedly not reasonable. It also has a pretty small footprint, an array of attractive prefilters, and is almost silent on the lowest level. You can also get a twin-pack for a big discount.

  • iRobot Roomba 692 for $200 ($117 off): Any time an iRobot vacuum dips near $200, it’s a good deal. Although this is an older model, it still has a powerful motor, world-class navigation, and features that I still have yet to see in more expensive robot vacuums—like Dirt Detect, which finds high-traffic areas and gives them a more thorough scrubbing.

  • Yeedi K650 Robot Vacuum for $170 ($50 off): I (Adrienne) am currently testing this robot vacuum, which has performed surprisingly well given its low price point. It doesn’t have mapping capabilities, but it also hasn’t gotten caught by common robot vacuum traps, like my kitchen step. It also has a long runtime of over 2 hours.

  • Stasher Reusable Storage Bag Bundle for $38 ($12 off): These reusable, dishwasher-friendly silicone bags are favorites of the entire WIRED staff. This bundle has bags in a variety of sizes that last forever, seal well, and stay easy to clean.

  • Instant Pot Aura 8QT Slow Cooker for $70 ($79 off): Is it even a Prime Day without an Instant Pot? The Aura is not the Instant Pot’s pressure cooker, but it can oven-bake and roast, which other versions cannot.

  • Kasa Smart Plug for $20 ($10 off): Are you trying to make your home a little more energy-efficient and shave a few bucks off your heating bill? A smart plug that will let you turn off your entire workstation when you go to bed is an easy, affordable way to start.

  • Le Creuset Enameled Cast Iron Griddle for $90 ($70 off): Amazon is currently offering a lot of kitchenware at up to 40 percent off. It’s rare to see a prestige kitchenware brand like Le Creuset discounted this deeply. A griddle is useful for everything from pressing sandwiches to making pancakes.

  • Tramontina Stainless Steel Fry Pan for $40 ($20 off): Tramontina is a sturdy midrange brand; I (Adrienne) own several of their pots myself. They’re an even better bargain at this discount.

  • SodaStream Fizzi Bundle for $96 ($52 off): Likewise, a SodaStream is useful for anyone who has found themselves helplessly addicted to bubbly water in quarantine. This bundle comes with extra carbonating bottles and flavor drops.

  • Keurig K-Mini for $45 ($35 off): Keurig pods may be a little wasteful, but you can’t deny they’re convenient—especially now that we’re all at home, applying a steady, slow drip of caffeine into our veins. This one has a remarkably small countertop footprint and a very good discount.

  • AeroGarden Bounty Heirloom Salad for $250 ($150 off) at Best Buy: If you are used to growing your fresh herbs and veggies through the summer, AeroGardens are an easy, countertop way to continue indulging your green thumb through a cold and gray winter.

  • Roborock S5 MAX Robovac and Mop for $439 ($110 off): This Alexa-enabled robovac comes with a built-in mop and virtual floor mapping, so that it knows just which surfaces to use water on. Roborock isn’t a household name, but Senior Writer Adrienne So says they make surprisingly good products, and she expects this to be no exception.

  • Roborock S6 MaxV Robovac with Mop and Lidar for $599 ($200 off): Two cameras, Lidar, and a special AI engine make this robot vacuum and mop from Roborock one of the least likely to bump into household objects. It’s even compatible with Google Home and Alexa, should you want to control your vacuum with your voice.

  • Nixplay 10-Inch Smart Photo Frame for $116 ($64 off): Nixplay has several frames on sale, but the 10-inch size is the best deal by far. You can manage photos remotely through the Nixplay app on your phone to keep long-distance relatives with the frame updated on your happenings—particularly great during the pandemic.

  • LectroFan Classic White Noise Machine for $30 ($20 off): I (Adrienne) am still using this sound machine to put my kids to sleep. So far, it’s lasted five years and counting. It’s small, unobtrusive and reliable and will work just as well to drown out noise in your home office as in a bedroom.
